WATCH: Sundowns supporters build a home for a family of 14

Mamelodi Sundowns has continued to make news headlines long after the curtain for the 2018/19 season has closed.

This comes after the supporters of the club won the hearts of many South Africans on social media after a video of them building a house for a family of 14 in Belabela emerged.

The family is made up of a mother, her five children and eight grandchildren shared a shack.

“We started building the house back in 16 June 2018 after we travelled from Mamelodi to Belabela to play a football game against our supporters’ branch in that community.

“While walking around in the neighbourhood we realised that this family was the only one without a house on that street and we investigated and found that they were a family of 14.

“We decided to build the house as the supporters’ branch from Mamelodi over the past year from our own pockets,” Sundowns national supporters’ coordinator Cedric Moela explained.

Moela says they are currently putting the final touches to the house and plan to hand over the keys to the Mashaba family on June 16.

“We are almost done and we just need to paint it and give the key to the house to the family now on June 16.”
