We want to test Barcelona – Percy Tau

While Barcelona are the overwhelming favourites in their international friendly against Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday evening, Percy Tau insists that Downs will be out to test the five-time European champions.

The La Liga champions are in the country to face Masandawana for the second time in a little over a decade.

The first match ended in a 2-1 win for the visitors against Gordon Igesund’s Sundowns side in 2007 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium. This time around, the match will be played under the banner of the Nelson Mandela centenary celebration at the FNB Stadium.

“It will be a great game but we want to see if they are going to be able to deal with the things that we do at Sundowns,” said Tau.

“We know them and we watch them but we want to see if they can be able to deal with the movement also so that we can also test ourselves. We have tested ourselves at the Fifa Club World Cup and we picked up few things and now we want to test ourselves and see what happens,” added the 24-year-old.

Barca are set to being football powerhouses such as multiple Fifa Player of the Year Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, just to name a few. However, Tau says he will not be under any pressure.

“It is not pressure, I never compare myself to anybody,” he said when asked about the notion of Messi versus Tau, as it has been the hype of the match.
