Wits goalkeeper set for Chiefs move?

Word is that Keet’s current deal with the Students ends in June and he isn't keen to sign a new one with them.

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has hinted that goalkeeper Darren Keet could be headed to Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the season.

Keet’s current deal with the Students ends in June and the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper is not keen to sign a new one.

Asked about Keet’s future following Wits’ loss to Chiefs last week, Hunt told reporters: “No, I haven’t [spoken to Keet]. Maybe Kaizer Chiefs [have], I heard they want to sign him, so we’ll see.”

Chiefs are said to be on the lookout for a top goalkeeper to compete with Itumeleng Khune for the number one jersey.

Besides Khune, Chiefs have Virgil Vries, Bruce Bvuma, and Brylon Petersen in their goalkeeping department.

Khune is currently out nursing an injury and Vries is standing in for him as the club’s number goalie, but word is that Chiefs wants another top goalkeeper and they’re in negotiations with Keet.
