Salary demands stall ex-Chiefs defender’s move to AmaZulu

Phakaaathi has learnt that high salary demands are stalling Tsepo Masilela’s move to AmaZulu.

A source close to Usuthu told Phakaaathi that the club was keen to add the experienced former Kaizer Chiefs defender to their squad, but the parties cannot agree on his salary.

“You must remember that Tsepo comes from Chiefs and he was earning a lot there but AmaZulu do not have a big financial muscle like Chiefs, so they can’t afford to pay what he is asking for,” said the source.

“The coach has made no secret about his desire to have him in his team, but if he doesn’t lower his salary demands then AmaZulu won’t sign him,” added the source.

Masilela is currently a free agent after he was released by Chiefs in July last year.
