SuperSport have been unable to replace Reneilwe Letsholonyane since he left for Highlands Park and with captain Dean Furman nearing the exit door, Mohomi is what United need.

Sundowns have been reluctant to sell Mohomi to SuperSport but could be persuaded to as Andile Jali has hit form and Tiyani Mabunda is the midfield back-up together with injured Rivaldo Coetzee,” said a source at Matsatsantsa.

Meanwhile, as reported earlier, Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he will intensify his search for a new striker.

“We don’t need a playmaker and our defending is not such a problem. We need someone who can finish the attack,” said Mosimane after his side’s 2-1 win over USM Alger in the Caf Champions League over the weekend.
