We have to keep momentum going – Manyama

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebogang Manyama says it is important for the team to win their last two games before the short summer break to ensure they keep their lead intact going into the second round of the Absa Premiership campaign.

Amakhosi have a clean 10 points lead on their nearest rivals who are SuperSport United and are already being seen as favourites to wrestle the title away from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Manyama says they have to beat Bloemfontein Celtic who they host at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday night.

“Obviously, it is another tough game against a very good team. One of the teams who play the best football in the country. I have watched them a few times. They have some good players,” said Manyama.

“But it is another chance for us to get three points and extend the gap and obviously try to keep our momentum going and make our fans happy,” he added.

The Tembisa born player said winning games has always been important and it is a mentality they have adopted for this season.

“It is as important as it has been the whole season – each and every game. Obviously we have had a couple of bad days but those can happen to anybody. We want to try and take six points from these last games because there will be a tough schedule with big games in January.

“It’s very important to keep the momentum going. It is another important game, another three important points for us so we have to try and do our best.”
