Blow by blow: Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham

Following a 3-0 demolition job at Wembley, Tottenham travel to Dortmund as they look to finish the job and secure their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Spurs head into the second leg of their last-16 tie at Signal Iduna Park holding a healthy 3-0 advantage from last month’s reverse fixture at Wembley.

However, they have failed to win any of their matches since that triumph, following up defeats to Burnley and Chelsea with a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in Saturday’s north London derby.

That poor run of form has seen Tottenham’s hopes of winning the Premier League title all but disappear and it means the Champions League represents their only chance of claiming some silverware this season.

That could put extra pressure on Mauricio Pochettino’s side heading into Tuesday’s match and it will be interesting to see what approach they adopt given they have a lead to protect.

Tottenham have won their last three meetings with Dortmund, all of which have come in the Champions League, and they could welcome midfielders Eric Dier and Harry Winks back into the fold after they missed the draw with Arsenal through injury and illness respectively.
