Get ready for Super Saturday … as Boks and Proteas set to battle England
It's going to be a bumper Saturday with the Boks and Proteas in action at World Cup tournaments.

If you haven’t done so already best you cancel everything you have planned for Saturday and make sure your TV remote’s batteries are well charged, the drinks are chilled and the snacks ready … because if you’re a sports fan you don’t want to be anywhere else on 21 October than in front of your TV.
As it’s turned out this will be the day that two of the world’s biggest sporting rivals will go head to head on two fronts — in rugby and cricket at World Cup tournaments.
Proteas out to bounce back
Yes, the Boks and Proteas will be in action against their English counterparts on Saturday, and what a day it promises to be.
First-up at 10.30am, the Proteas and England meet at the Cricket World Cup in India, with the round-robin match taking place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The Proteas will be going all out to bounce back from their humiliating 38-run defeat by the Netherlands in Dharamsala on Tuesday, but at the same time England will be looking to hit back after also suffering a shock defeat on Sunday, a 69-run loss to Afghanistan.
It should be another thrilling match, with the Proteas seeking a third win from four games at the tournament, while England have so far only notched up one win in three outings.
Boks in RWC semis
Then, later on Saturday, at 9pm, the Springboks take on England in the second of the two semi-finals at the Rugby World Cup in France.
The Boks qualified for the last-four meeting after a thrilling 29-28 win against France last Sunday, while England edged Fiji 30-24 in an equally entertaining game.
The match will be a repeat of the 2019 World Cup final in Yokohama when the Boks beat England 32-12 to win the Webb Ellis Cup for a third time.
And don’t forget the football …
And for those who’re also interested in their football, Bafana Bafana aren’t in action again until next month, but in the Carling Cup on Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs take on Amazulu at FNB Stadium at 6pm.
And for fans of the English Premiership, and there are many, the big games on Saturday include the Merseyside Derby between Liverpool and Everton at Anfield at 1.30pm, while Chelsea and Arsenal clash in a London Derby at 6.30pm.
Now, Eskom just needs to play the game as well and keep the lights on.
