Driver hijacked after being pushed off road

The victim was robbed of his car just before 3am on Monday morning.

A motorist was hijacked at the corner of Tonk Meter Drive and Rhokana Avenue in Selcourt just before 3am on Monday.
The victim, who was travelling with a colleague, told the police he was driving his charcoal-coloured Volkswagen Polo and had just passed the traffic lights at the intersection when he noticed a white double cab Toyota bakkie driving behind him.
The driver of the bakkie flashed his lights and then turned on the brights, before trying to force the victim off the road.

Hoping to avoid an accident, the victim swerved towards the pavement and stopped.
The victim’s colleague jumped out of the car and ran away.
A man approached the victim, threatened him with a firearm and demanded his gun.
After the victim told the man he didn’t have a gun, the gunman took a cellphone, lunchbox and wallet, and told the victim to go away.
He then drove off in the victim’s car.
The victim ran away and notified nearby security guards who helped him contact the police.
