Woman surprised by intruders at Selection Park home

The approximate value of all the items taken is R30 000.

A Selection Park homeowner was surprised by two intruders in her home last Thursday afternoon.
The victim told the police she was in her bedroom when she heard somebody screaming inside the house.
When she went to check, she found a man in the lounge unplugging two laptops.
There was another man who was unplugging the TV.

When they noticed her, one of the men pulled out his gun and instructed her to sit down.
Before complying with his instructions, the victim asked if she could take the child with her and the man told her to hand over her cellphones.
He then took her and her daughter’s cellphone with the TV and laptops before they fled the scene in a black Iveco minibus that was parked in front of the house.
According to the complainant, the main electric gate was forced open because the suspects’ vehicle was parked in the yard.

Further investigation by police revealed that there was no forced entry at the gate.
The only explanation might be that the main gate was left open, or the gate was opened with a remote by one of the tenants renting an outside room from the complainant.
The back steel kitchen door of the house was forced open.
The complainant indicated that one of the suspects had a steel pick head with him that was possibly used to force the door open.
The approximate value of all the items taken is R30 000.
