Springs SPCA launches after-hours animal drop-off kennels

The Springs SPCA has unveiled new after-hours drop-off kennels, giving residents a safe way to leave animals when the pound is closed.

The Springs SPCA has introduced after-hours animal drop-off kennels, providing a safe and secure way for animals to be left at the pound when it is closed.

The kennels are located next to the SPCA’s emergency gate on Townsend Road.

“It’s not something we ever wanted to need, but too many animals were being left outside our gates or thrown over the wall after hours.

“These kennels offer a safe, secure place for animals to be left when we are closed, until our team arrives,” the SPCA said.

Separate kennels have been provided for small dogs, large dogs, and cats.

The organisation also thanked Naomi Nienaber for leading the campaign in partnership with Nedbank, which helped secure the funding for the project.
