Carers don’t care

This week's Advertiser features another story of how someone was treated badly by health care professionals.

We’ve had an endless stream of letters and phone calls over the years regarding the bad service received at our local clinics and hospitals.

The very people we go to for help when we are sick and in need, the people you would expect will have compassion, treat people without an ounce of respect or warmth.

We’ve had complaints of doctors and nurses yelling at patients, cursing at them and worse.

Although we know that everyone, even doctors and nurses, have bad days, nothing excuses the way that some health care professionals are treating the public.

There was a time that going into a medical profession was a calling, but it seems that those days have past.

We at the Addie take our hats off to those health care professionals who, despite the challenges they face, treat the public who come to them for help with a smile and a warm attitude.
