I would love to refer to a recent article in the Advertiser and also the comments coming from Ekurhuleni.
It was about the development on the same piece of land that the dust complaint originated from. Opposite Edelweiss and next to Daggafontein Extension 1.
It is not completely true about registered letters being sent out. A couple were sent but definitely not to all the neighbours as quoted.
I have been in contact with the developer and several complaints were raised. None of these complaints were ever answered.
I have to say that our previous councillor was included in all correspondence. I have visited the town planning department about three months ago to question them about the development. They denied that anything was going to be built.
I also raised the issue about the building taking place across from the industrial area in Daggafontein.
I raised my concern regarding all the additional traffic on Clydesdale Road.
The town planner just pulled up his shoulders and walked away.
So my question is: Was the impact study really done? Was it just ignored?
There are many more questions and concerns among the residents.
Please assist and guide us on the way forward.

Please find my comments as follows:
- It is portion 115 of the remainder of Daggafontein 125IR, it will be called Edelweiss Extension 3 and it is about 243 hectare.
- It is for residential 2 and about 11 four bedroom units.
- Dwellings – 13 townhouse units.
- Business 2 meaning warehouse.
- Three sites for school purposes and one medical centre.
- 19 Open spaces.
- A Traffic Impact study was done and approved by council.
- It was advertised on 2 times in the newspaper and Government Gazette for residents to comment and object if they want.
As for the dust we will speak to the private developer to address this. Council has not approved their development as yet, but they were just clearing the site for future development.
I hope you will find the above in order. If not please do not hesitate to call me or meet with me at anytime.

- Wallace and Shabangu have had further discussions, via e-mail, around this issue which, for space reasons, has not been printed here. Ed
