That darn cat!

Think I mentioned that mom moved her desk back downstairs to make it easier for my own furry self.

No more humping me up and down the stairs millions of times a day.

Although every now and then I hump my furry bod up the stairs.

Like the other day when mom was feeling a tad under the weather, I needed to widdle in the middle of the night.

We went downstairs.

Mom sat on her chair and looked sad.

She had an upset tummy – same as I do every now and then.

She took a dry uninteresting cracker out of the container and munched on it listlessly.

I hovered up the crumbs and removed the last bit of biscuit from her fingers.

Here… let me help you with that.

You don’t look like you are enjoying it much.

She sat there for a few minutes longer.

I headed off to the stairs and assumed the position.

Fudges… she said in a small voice.

I have no energy to carry you upstairs.

You are going to have to get yourself to the top.

Looked at her.

Hmmm… perhaps it would not do to have you dropping your precious doglet.

Perhaps I better walk my own self up.

So I did.

That cat fancies her chair by her desk.

It’s a nice wheelie chair that spins around.

Sometimes mom whooshes across the floor and gives me a smooch.

Just because she loves me.

But every time Mom gets up, Ralph sneaks onto her chair.

Like magic.

One minute he is not in the room and the next minute he is sitting in her chair.

Not just sitting I might add – all curled up and pretending to be fast asleep.

With his paw covering his whiskers.

Mom gives him a poke.

Oi! I’m busy.

You can’t have my chair.

Ralph has suddenly become deaf as a post.

Mom gives him another poke.

He does not budge.

So she hefts him up and parks him on another stool that she specifically put nearby so that he can lie next to us.

There is a little carpet in-between for me to lie on when it’s chilly.

Ralph pretends that he was there all the time.

Ten minutes later when mom gets up to do something else… he magics himself back into her chair.

The whole process starts all over again.
