Springs and Benoni joint operation leads to six arrests and stolen Toyota Fortuner recovery

Springs and Benoni officers recovered a vehicle and made several other breakthroughs during the two-day operation.

A joint operation by the EMPD and SAPS conducted on July 9 and 10 led to the arrest of six suspects and the recovery of a stolen vehicle in the Benoni and Springs areas.

According to the EMPD, officers received information about a stolen motor vehicle which they located in Dawn Park.

“A white Toyota Fortuner matching the description of the reported stolen vehicle was found abandoned in the Dawn Park area.

In a separate operation, the EMPD apprehended three undocumented men in Springs for failure to produce valid documentation.

“They were detained at the Springs Police Station and will soon appear in court,” the EMPD said.
