Alone on a plane

By Citizen Reporter

Skirmantas Strimaitis described his flight between Lithuania and Bergamo in Italy this weekend as being a “once in a lifetime experience”, but this wasn’t only because the service was excellent.

Heading on a ski trip Strimaitis was surprised to find he was the only passenger who had booked a ticket on the flight and now had 188 seats, two pilots and five cabin attendants all to himself.

According to the Novaturas travel agency, this unusual situation had occurred because the agency had chartered the plane to fly a group of travellers home from Italy and for the plane’s return flight from Lithuania to Italy, had sold only one-way tickets in the hope of earning back some of the fuel costs – Strimaitis was the only person to buy one.
