VEREENIGING – After having a marvellous and very successful cultural season, Eureka School held a special day for the children’s grandparents.

The school was proud to present the day in its newly built school hall. The visitors were delighted to attend a special concert. The learners performed the items they had prepared for the Vereeniging Arts Festival.

They had reason to be proud as Eureka School’s learners performed exceptionally well at this year’s festival.  The school entered five dance groups, and all received distinctions. The Gumboots dancers obtained A++, the Grade R’s A+, Grade 1 Sokkie A++, the Amapiano Culture Dance A++, and the Choir Dance A++.

The solo singers received 7 A++ and 7+ distinctions, while the speech choir and the choir received A+ and A++, respectively. The Gr. 3 instrumental ensemble impressed the judges enough to earn A+++, while the Autism Unit’s instrumentalists scored A++. The learners participating in the piano recitals obtained 2 A++.

The Eureka learners also excelled in the Visual Arts category, receiving 6+++, 15 A++, 10 A++ and 21 A+ marks.

After the entertaining concert, the grandparents were treated to homemade soup and vetkoekies. The school is grateful for its sponsors, Security 21 Real Estates and CMM Attorneys.
