‘The DA will continue to fight for residents of Emfuleni’
“We managed to retain all our wards: Ward 1, 4, 5, 9, 10, 15 and 45. The DA remains committed to serving in the interest of all residents by fighting for uninterrupted service delivery in Emfuleni,” says Mollo

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Emfuleni Local Municipality will keep focussing on getting things done. This is the viewpoint of the DA’s Emfuleni Mayoral candidate, Councillor Dady Mollo.
“We wish to thank the residents of Emfuleni who came out and voted for the DA. Through their vote, the DA increased its support by more than 2 percentage points from 24.65% in the 2016 Local Government Elections to 26.91% in the 2021 elections.
“We also managed to retain all our wards: Ward 1, 4, 5, 9, 10, 15 and 45. The DA remains committed to serving in the interest of all residents by fighting for uninterrupted service delivery in Emfuleni,” says Mollo.
He adds that the dynamics of the Emfuleni council has changed dramatically with the ANC’s support that has fallen to below 40%. This means that the Emfuleni council is now a hung council and every council decision will require the votes of at least two of the three major parties in the council to pass.
“The DA pledges to the voters of Emfuleni that we will always use our voting power responsibly and will always vote in the best interest of the residents and the municipality to ensure proper financial management and service delivery. We will do our utmost to help turn around a failing municipality.”
In addition to this, says Mollo, the DA will continue to fight for residents of Emfuleni and ensure that corruption is rooted out; ensure a sanitary and clean environment in every community; bring sustainable basic service delivery for all; save the residents of this municipality from untreated wastewater contaminating the environment, homes, streets, and sidewalks; ensure that every cent is spent according to the benefit of residents; root out cadre deployment and ensure that the appointment of staff is based on the value they add and not political alignment.
“Our focus is on building a local government that gets things done for the residents. Your vote did not go to waste. The struggle to better the lives of our people through service delivery continues,” says Mollo.
