Suspect nabbed for killing ex-girlfriend
Police spokesperson Constable Tlaleng Moloi reports that police were summoned to the scene and on arrival, they were met with the lifeless body of a woman aged 39, facing upwards.

MEYERTON- The Meyerton acting station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Johan de Winnaar, has commended the community of Meyerton and health workers in the area for ensuring that a domestic violence suspect is brought to justice.
This follows the arrest of a 36-year-old accused of killing his girlfriend. The incident transpired over the December holidays.
Police spokesperson Constable Tlaleng Moloi reports that police were summoned to the scene and on arrival, they were met with the lifeless body of a woman aged 39, facing upwards.
“The woman was covered in blood with multiple bruises. Paramedics on the scene declared the woman dead.”
Moloi reports that, on further investigation, police were informed that the couple had fought and were separated by the landlord.
“The landlord subsequently locked the deceased in her bedroom. The suspect broke the door to the room where the deceased was locked in. He allegedly stabbed her multiple times and fled the scene.”
Moloi states that the suspect was arrested the following day at a health care centre.
“The suspect is currently receiving medical attention and will appear in court as soon as his health is stable.”
De Winnaar warns community members against using violence to resolve issues.
“The path of non-violence, though sometimes more difficult, ultimately leads to more positive results. The key is to think of alternative solutions that will prohibit you from getting into trouble.”
