Four contestants, one giant burger and one champion

The battle was on at SUPERSPAR Saveways as four fearless contestants went head-to-head in the Monster Burger Challenge.

Cheers, laughter, and plenty of appetites filled SUPERSPAR. Saveways, as four fearless contestants, took on the much-anticipated Monster Burger Challenge before an excited crowd of supporters.

The challenge, held on July 4, was officially opened by Carol Mkhwanazi, who welcomed contestants and spectators.

In her opening remarks, she encouraged everyone to enjoy the day’s festivities, wished the competitors well, and urged them to give the challenge their best effort.

After an intense battle against the towering custom-made burger and 500g of chips, Trust Ndlovu emerged victorious, earning bragging rights as the 2026 Monster Burger Challenge champion.

Ndlovu said, “I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but I came prepared and stayed focused from the first bite to the last. Winning the Monster Burger Challenge feels amazing, and I want to thank everyone who came out to support us. The cheering from the crowd kept me going.”

The event also celebrated determination and inclusivity, with Bidi Barrett, who is blind, impressing spectators by taking on the challenge with confidence and finishing in second position. Sihle Nkosi finished the challenge third.
