Home based care brought to Masakhane

Masakhane was alive with the bustle of community members hard at work at the soon to be home based care station on Mandela Day.
Social workers from Impungwe joined hands with the Christian Social Council Witbank, members form Eskom – Duvha Power Station and home based care givers to cleanup and put in their best efforts to brighten up the Masakhane Home Based Care Clinic.
“The home base care camp is a point where members of the community can provide health care as a facility to the patients of the Masakhane community,” said Ms Bongi Magwegwe, Christian Social Council Witbank.

The team of members from Eskom – Duvha Power Station, Impungwe, Christian Social Council Witbank and home based care, doing their part for Mandela Day on July 18 at Masakhane.
Ms Sibongile Ramaila, social worker from Impungwe said
“The home base will officially be launched on July 23 and it will be a day of fun and games.”
Duvha Eskom Employees donated toys, clothes, Educational charts, non-perishable food, blankets, a gas stove along with gas cylinders, mattresses, chairs, tables, cups, plates, and household cleaning materials.
On handing over the goods to the centre manager, the Duvha Power Station Manager, Mr Anthony Kuzelj assured all those who attended that Duvha will provide continuous support to the Masakhane community, especially for the crèche and the home based care centre as per their needs and requirements.
The home based camp will provide care for 120 adults and will cater for 35 children who can enrol into the crèche.
“We are building three additional ablution facilities, a vegetable garden, adding infrastructure through refurbishment and upgrades, members of Eskom have also donated non perishables, clothes and blankets and we will be securing the yard,” said Mr Tshepo Molabe, Eskom – Duvha Power Station.
