Vets check the leopard’s wound for infection

The infection was treated and it was time to see what they did, worked.

The last time the vets from Witbank Veterinary Hospital opened up the leopard’s wound, it had developed a bad infection.

The infection was treated and it was time to see what they did, worked.

So on Thursday, January 10, Dr Nolan Landman and his team prepared to sedate the leopard to check its wound once again.

The wound was opened and Landman was happy with the previous treatment as the wound was healing according to plan.

The wound was cleaned and more ornament was applied to the opened wound before it was stitched up.

This leopard was caught in a snare on a farm between Middelburg and Loskop area.

Deon Cornelius managed to get the leopard out of the snare and brought the leopard to Landman for further treatment.

So far all being done with funds from the vet and rehabilitation centre; money is running out and the leopard still needs to be treated.

Everyone is hoping that this male will heal completely.

Of course the team wants to keep on fighting for this male, like the 53 before him, and the ones that need to be rescued in the coming years.
