Pastor Ignatius Mahlangu fighting against schools violence

He called upon parents to support their children and give proper parenting

Founder of Emalahleni Men of Destiny, Pastor Ignatius Mahlangu has set himself a programme in fighting against school violence.

Pastor Mahlangu says he wants to build a strong partnership to fight schools violence which includes bullying and misbehaviour of learners toward educators.

“In some of the schools outside eMalahleni we heard last year that other learners stabbing each other and killing educators as well. We also heard about young learners stabbing each other in toilets. As parents we need to stand up because the future belongs to our children. We need to stop the violence in schools now,” Pastor Mahlangu pointed out.

Pastor Mahlangu mentioned the issues of alcohol and drug abuse, crime, sexual activities at a young age, transmitted diseases, teenage pregnancy and other issues.

He called upon parents to support their children and give proper parenting.

He said the children need to be supported physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually.

He also called upon parents to be present in the lifes of their children and not to abuse them.

“One of the programmes of the partnership we need to consider is the parent development of both mother and father together with the child. All of them need to understand the importance of the family as the first church of God. The first teacher of the child is the parent before the child set foot at school. Bearing children out of marriage have bad results in our society,’ added Mahlangu.

Pastor Mahlangu encourages women not to kill their children as they are blessings from God.

He asked them to take them to social workers instead of killing them.

He also has a message for men, not to abuse women but to love unconditionally.

Pastor Mahlangu said they will hold a workshop on school violence on Saturday, February 16 at Ecclesiates Church next to New Engen garage in Phase 2 New Extension at 10:00.
