Christmas Day sees deadly accident on N12

Another life is lost in an accident on the N12.

A man lost his life in an accident earlier today.

Over the Zello channel calls for extra ambulances echoed as 14 passengers were injured in the accident, of which one is a little girl.

The patients were transported to Witbank Hospital.

According to witnesses, there were apparently more than 20 people in the bakkie that was on its way from Johannesburg to Mozambique.

The accident happened just after the S-bends.

The cause of the accident is not determined yet.

The rest of the passengers have to make alternative traveling arrangements to get to Mozambique.

Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Vusi Shongwe, has urged motorists who will be travelling during this festive season to use the road cautiously.

The N4 toll road from Gauteng leading to Mozambique and eSwatini is regarded as one of the busiest routes over the festive season.
