Glitz and glamour served as the main course at Curro matric farewell

The grade 12 learner's farewell was hosted at the Portuguese Hall on Wednesday, August 7.

It was glitz and glamour all the way for Curro Bankenveld’s class of 2024 at their matric farewell at the Portuguese Hall.

WITBANK NEWS arrived to capture the moments while they were making their grand entrances, with loads of excitement from their fellows on Wednesday, August 7.

Under the theme unmasked, the matriculants looked stunning and radiant in their gorgeous dresses and dapper suits, arriving in posh cars, and styled like stars gracing a red carpet.

Vanessa Matsukis, a teacher at the school shared that the evening was a perfect blend of fun and sophistication.

“Our learners reveled in the excitement of the 360 camera and selfie booth, capturing moments that will be cherished for years to come. They indulged in delicious food, celebrating the near end of their high school journey with joy and camaraderie,” Vanessa shared.

She reckoned that the highlight of the evening was the motivational speeches delivered by the principal, Mr Jacques Bissett as well as the head prefects Aaliyah Noor-Mohamed and Mbonisi Sibanyoni.

“Their words were like beacons of light, encouraging the Class of 2024 to strive for greatness and to embrace the future with confidence and determination,” Vanessa added.

Vanessa ended by mentioning that the evening was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the learners.

“It was an evening where dreams took flight and the Class of 2024 shone brightly, ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives.”
