Woman’s night out takes unexpected turn

Thea's stolen car is a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, with registration number KDB 481 MP.

A Friday evening outing turned into a disaster for Thea Immelman when her car was allegedly stolen from the Highveld Mall parking lot.

Immelman alleges that she parked her silver Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, with registration number KDB 481 MP, at the mall’s parking lot at around 14:00 on Friday, January 17.

She then went inside the mall to grab dinner with a friend.

All was still in order at that time.

Things started taking a huge turn after they finished dinner and decided to head back home.

According to Immelman, it was about 22:00 when she returned to the parking lot, only to find that her car was nowhere, which she believed was stolen.

The incident left Immelman overwhelmed and stressed. She expressed by saying, “I am heartbroken and in disbelief that this happened to me.”

Immelman further added by saying that the people at the mall tried to assist her in locating her car and she also opened a case at the police station.

Captain Eddie Hall from Witbank Police Station gave out these tips: “Do not stop around hijacking spots or in any secluded area. Always be alert when driving. If you suspect that you are being followed by a suspicious vehicle, drive to the nearest police station or call the SAPS emergency number 10111.”

“Highveld Mall is working closely with SAPS to provide the necessary information to the investigating officers. The suspects’ vehicle has been identified. Highveld Mall provided all information and support to Thea Immelman, ” said Nicola Blake the marketing manager.

The case is still ongoing, and police are still investigating this incident.
