Gomolemo puts the boy child first with back-to-school campaign

Mr Mpumalanga finalist Gomolemo Baloyi donates hygiene packs and motivates young boys at Alex Mampana Primary School.

Gomolemo Baloyi continued to demonstrate that he has the best interests of the boy child at heart through his impactful community outreach initiatives.

As part of his Back to School Drive, the Top 10 finalist in the Mr Mpumalanga 2026 competition visited Alex Mampana Primary School on February 27, where he donated hygiene packages to 15 boys and hosted an educational hygiene talk.

He said his passion for empowering young boys comes from understanding the challenges many of them face.

“I believe the boy child also needs guidance, support, and safe spaces to grow into responsible men,” he said. “When we invest in young boys today, we are shaping stronger communities for tomorrow.”

Gomolemo, who is also a former Mr Emalahleni, encouraged the boys to prioritise cleanliness, self-respect, and education.

During his visit, Baloyi held a hygiene talk, educating and encouraging the boys on the importance of cleanliness, self-respect, and making responsible choices while focusing on their education.

“My goal is to create awareness, promote acceptance, and provide safe spaces where people with learning challenges feel supported, not judged,” he said. “If my story can inspire even one young man to overcome his challenges, it’s worth it.”
