Witbank SAPS and SACCW recover stolen student laptop

The recovery of the laptop led to the arrest of the suspects involved.

Witbank SAPS, together with the SACCW in Emalahleni, recovered a stolen laptop belonging to a student from TUT.

According to the police, the laptop was stolen from the student’s room on March 11.

After a case was opened, the suspect, who was interviewed, reportedly confessed to stealing the laptop and taking it to someone in the CBD to be sold.

However, the police and members of the SACCW acted swiftly and recovered the stolen item.

The suspects were arrested for theft, accomplice to theft, and possession of suspected stolen property, respectively.

Acting station commander of Witbank SAPS, Colonel Nonhlanhla Kgosana, praised the members and the community structure for their professionalism and commitment.

“The swift action and teamwork displayed by the police member and SACCW demonstrate our ongoing success with community structures,” Kgosana said.
