ELM spreads love to Madressa Orphanage and Lynnville elderly

Sibongile Qibi from Elephant Literature Media cited the spirit of Ubuntu, saying, "I exist because of us."

Fikile Zomba and Sibongile Qibi from Elephant Literature Media (ELM) joined hands in bringing a token of love and care to the children at Madressa Tul-Umar Orphanage and elderly people from Lynnville.

On April 6, Fikile led the ELM team in spreading love and lending a helping hand to the orphanage, where they handed over a donation of grocery items such as vegetables, cooking oil, washing powder, and water.

“Today, we brought some food. While these items are not expensive, what they need is more than just food; they need to be seen, cared for, and loved,” Fikile said.

“We hope that through these small gifts, we can tell the children: you are not alone; many people in this world care about you and are cheering you on!”

Their generous deed didn’t end there, but extended to 10 elderly people in Lynnville, where they were led by Sibongile.

The elderly also received some food parcels, enough to make a difference in their livelihoods.

“Today, standing here representing ELM Company, we are putting this spirit into practice. When we extend a helping hand to others, we are also enriching our own lives,” Sibongile said, citing the powerful South African spirit of Ubuntu, “I exist because of us.”

The leaders commended their organisation for providing them with the funds that made everything possible.

“Also, to all the friends who participated in and supported our initiative, we want to say thank you, because of your participation, this love has become even more complete,” they said.

Sontoyi Nyembezi from the orphanage expressed gratitude for the warm gesture of love and kindness.

“I’m very grateful because alone I could never manage, but with the help of the community, it becomes much better,” Sontoyi said.

“Especially since the schools had been closed, the kids eat more than they normally do during school days. So, receiving this kind of assistance on such days is always a blessing.”
