NAA athletes on the right track, making their mark

Hard work, discipline, and talent are paying off for Nkangala Athletic Academy athletes.

Nkangala Athletic Academy continues to demonstrate its growing strength in developing top talent, with its athletes proving they are on the right track and making their mark wherever they go.

Leading the charge is middle-distance runner Gugulethu Thanjwekwayo, who delivered an outstanding performance at the South African Secondary Schools Track Championships held at the Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria from April 29 to May 2.

Representing Mpumalanga province, Gugulethu claimed a bronze medal in the 1 500m with a time of 03:57:55 and secured a silver medal in the 3 000m, clocking 08:41:44.

Already crowned Mpumalanga champion in the 1 500m, 3 000m, and 6km cross-country in the U17 category, Gugulethu continues to build a strong reputation as a formidable competitor on both track and cross-country stages.

“The boys have repaid us well. We do not regret the time spent with them during the December camp,” said Coach Emmanual Mabaso.

“They are on the right track and making their mark everywhere they go.”
