Stakeholders bring hard truths and motivation to Coronation Secondary

Witbank SAPS and various departments in Emalahleni visited the learners to empower and encourage them to speak out whenever there’s something troubling them.

Learners at Coronation Secondary School received a handful of lessons and motivation from various stakeholders in Emalahleni during a recent school visit.

The visit on May 22 was led by Witbank SAPS Sergeant Faniswa Matsabisa and the school’s adopt-a-cop, Warrant Officer David Ratau. They were also joined by other police officers and stakeholders from departments such as Safety and Security, Social Development, SANCA, Correctional Services, accompanied by a parolee, and different community groups, among others.

“The purpose was to share the information about the roles of the different departments that were present,” said Ratau.

The stakeholders not only conducted a search within the school premises, but Matsabisa also took her time to encourage the learners to always speak out when experiencing challenges and not wait until it’s too late.

The parolee, on the other hand, also got to share her experience with the learners and told them that prison is not a child’s play. She also enlightened them on the disadvantages of being arrested.
The school principal appreciated the stakeholders for their purposeful visit.
