ANGIE Snyman is not just a pretty face on this month’s cover of Fitness magazine.
She is also a Richards Bay resident who was recently crowned ‘Fitness Diva Model’ and awarded ‘pro status’ in the World Beauty, Fashion and Fitness (WBFF) SA competition in July.
With more than 200 athletes who entered the competition at Carnival City in Johannesburg, Angie was one of 11 who were selected to represent South Africa in the 2014 world championships. The criteria for judging this category was based on 40 percent marketability, 40 percent physical and 20 percent stage presence.
WBFF gives athletes like Angie a platform to showcase bodybuilding, fitness and modelling in one competition, with eight categories for both amateur and professional athletes.
In preparation for the world championships, this homegrown beauty trains six days a week, Monday to Saturday, focusing on weight training, and will incorporate a cardiovascular regime closer to the competition.
Her diet includes six meals a day that is packed with carbohydrates and four litres of water a day.
Her motivation that gets her through all the rigorous training is to ‘do everything with childlike enthusiasm’.
