Trip on the wild side

The highlight of the trip was the game drive when pupils spotted the elephants for the first time.

VIEWING the elephant and rhino in the wild was a first for eShowe High School pupils who could not believe ‘how they big they are!’

Every term, the top three academic achievers of each grade at eShowe High School are taken on an excursion to a place of interest in KZN.

This term, the group of pupils known as the Alpha Club, were thrilled their first outing of the year, sponsored by DICE (Do I Care Enough?), was to Thula Thula Private Game Reserve outside Empangeni.

After Francoise Malby-Anthony warmly welcomed the excited pupils, game ranger David Bozas gave a talk on leadership.

The highlight of the trip was naturally the game drive when pupils spotted the huge animals for the first time.

The pupils thanked DICE for the opportunity to experience South Africa’s wildlife on their doorstep and for their special gifts; pens engraved with their names. (See letter on page 13).
