Winter knights brave the cold
The 'Winter Knights' of Round Table are back to collect donations of food, clothes and blankets.

ROUND TABLE is proud to announce the 11th year of ‘The Winter Knights of Round Table’ to raise donations of food, clothes and blankets on 27 June at the Meerensee Mall (Pick n Pay) from 5pm.
This effort forms part of a charity initiative being staged across the entire Southern African region, from Durban to Swakopmund and Polokwane to Cape Town.
Some 1 300 Round Tabler’s across this region will be spending a night in the cold at various venues with no protection other than a Round Table T–shirt and jeans.
In this way, Round Tablers will experience what it feels like to be at the mercy of the elements and to rely on the generosity of the public.
All donations will be passed on to various nominated charities.
Last year, thanks to the faithful support of the community, thousands of lives were bettered with the donation of R1.4-million in goods and funds to crèches, old age homes, shelters and other deserving recipients nationally with the ‘Winter Knights of Round Table’ campaign.
What is required this year is possible donations by companies in the form of non-perishable food, clothes and blankets, new or second-hand.
To encourage employees to participate, set up collection points at your company for any food, clothes and blanket donations.
Round Table will either collect the items from your company for distribution on the 27 June, or your company could come and do an official handover at the Meerensee Mall.
It’s an opportunity to get involved and help make a difference.
An event with the potential to bring industry, business, government and the public together to share in a bit of fun and, at the same time, supporting community and social welfare.
