More blackouts loom

Eskom statement sparks fears of loadshedding resuming in uMhlathuze.

ESKOM released a statement alerting residents to a the ‘probability of load shedding‘ from 5pm to 9pm today.

The grid remains under significant strain particularly from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, when the demand spikes primarily due to residential usage.

The City of uMthlathuze said the emergency load shedding schedule will apply for the applicable day and the blocks as indicated on the load shedding schedule.

The following areas will be effected should load shedding become necessary:

Richards Bay CBD
Bell Empangeni
Braeburn
Empangeni Rail
Fairview
Kuleka
Lafarge Quarries

Mill Housing

NoordsigNyala Park

Panorama

SAR Empangeni

Zidedele Village

ZSM (Old Mill)

During Stage 1 loadshedding, Vulindlela and Nseleni will be controlled by Eskom.

In an attempt to avoid power outages, people should use electrical appliances sparingly.
