Guardians of eShowe Conservancy meet

Poachers and any abusers of nature will be severely dealt with.

THE inaugural meeting of the Southern Zululand Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife Honorary Officers (HO)  was held at Thornley Guest House in eShowe.

A good turnout of 12 enthusiastic supporters and members set a clear course of ensuring that the conservation environs in and around eShowe and adjoining conservancies will be protected.

The group will operate within the law as the country’s wildlife heritage is continually being raped.

Poachers and any abusers of nature will be severely dealt with.

Van Jaarsveld and Vic Meyer led the group through the standards of procedure and the history of the voluntary HO organisation which was started by Dr Ian Player.

The HO contribute multi-millions of rands in time and money to assist in the protection of our province’s wildlife.

The organisation welcomes family groups to be part of their exciting work.

The Southern Zululand Group will concentrate on educational awareness as well as law enforcement.

The group will also encourage the use of our conservancies as recreation facilities.

The elected office bearers are Digs Pascoe (chairman), Simon Gardner (vice chairman), Graham Chennells (secretary) and Francis Platt (treasurer).

Other committee members are Belinda Edgar, Craig Milton, Gerrit Zaayman, Stephen Wiltshire, Dik Barton, Simon Gardiner, Rory McHugh and Amy Panikowski.

Anyone interested in joining the group can contact any of the above for more information.
