Conspiracy to murder Bay pastor case postponed
Case handed over to Senior Public Prosecutor in Pietermaritzburg for decision.

THE court case of two Richards Bay men, facing charges of conspiring to murder Brackenham pastor, Daniel Munsami, has been postponed to 19 March.
Appearing at the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court last week, the attorney of the accused stated that the case did not merit being on the court roll.
The matter has subsequently been sent for the attention of the Senior Public Prosecutor and the Director for Public Prosecution in Pietermaritzburg for decision.
Kishore Maniram (52) and Sunker Jugdeo (56) were arrested in August 2013 and first appeared at the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court where they were granted bail.
According to legal documents, the two accused first conspired with Zwelathe Tembe in 2011 and again in 2013 with Thulani Myeni to kill Munsami, the senior pastor of New Life Church in Brackenham and director of Nkosi Community Projects; an outreach programme aimed at supporting orphans and vulnerable children.
According to Richards Bay SAPS spokesperson Captain Debbie Ferreira, Munsami noted in his statement that he was at his home when a man approached him informing him of the task he had been given and that he instead decided to confess.
