Visual excellence on display

Check out the winning images of the Beachcombers Photography Club member competition for April.

Stunning land, city and seascape images were the focus of attention this month during the Beachcombers Photography Club member competition.

And Zululand photographers were on point with an array of creative and riveting pictures.

Gavin Fordham took the top spot with his winning picture entitled ‘Ragged Coastline’, while the open category, which attracted a string of exceptional entries, was won by Hendrik Louw with ‘Bytjie en die Blommetjie’.

Daryl Visser with his entry ‘Ruth First’ was named the ‘Best Junior’ for claiming the most points at the meeting.

Photographers who received merit certificates included Hendrik Louw for ‘Fire Aftermath’, Christine Kelbe for ‘Quiver tree forest’, Daryl Visser with ‘Ruth First’ and Sias van Schalkwyk for ‘The golden hour’.

The next photo challenge in May will feature ‘Reflections’ as the theme.

Visitors and photographers are invited to attend the meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at the NSRI base (next to Zululand Yacht Club) in Richards Bay

Induction for new members starts at 6:30pm and the club meeting at 7pm.
