Don’t hate me because I am beardiful

Today is World Beard Day

“I didn’t like my beard at first. Then it grew on me.” – some bearded man.

Today marks that special time of year again! World Beard Day is finally here. Hairy men all around the world will be showing off their macho manes in the spirit of this felicitous day. So make sure you have at least some stubble on your chin or you will face the full wrath of the bearded man’s discontent.

Herman Melville famously described beards in all their variety in only two chapters of his 1850 novel, White Jacket. The novel is an account of his years he spent sailing, and as we all know: an unkempt beard can take on a mind of its own.

But luckily for us, we have enduring examples of what a real beard should look like.

So break bread (and beer) with your bearded brethren today and have a laugh. As witty wordplay is just the start of the fun that is to come in celebration of this joyous occasion.
