WATCH: One injured in Felixton car and truck smash

One bystander became irate, blaming a ZO reporter for tampering with the scene.

ONE man was taken to hospital yesterday afternoon after his car smashed head on into the trailer of a sugar cane truck at the Felixton intersection on the R102.

According to a passenger in the VW Polo, they were travelling on the R102 from Empangeni towards Kwadlangezwa at around 3pm.

The car collided with the truck as it was turning right into the R102 from Felixton.

Fortunately the driver only sustained minor injuries, while the passenger was uninjured.

Traffic was disrupted for several hundred meters, and during the confusion three more vehicles bumped into each other further up the road.

No other injuries were reported.

Roadside drama

A bystander found a half-full cider on the passenger side of the vehicle, and proceeded to place it on the roof of the smashed Polo.

Another man was quick to blame this reporter for placing the bottle in open view.

The irate man grabbed the bottle and smashed it on the road before officials stepped in to calm him.
