Two vehicles will be used to control traffic and patrol the streets.

NKANDLA motorists will have to stick to the rules from now on as for the first time Nkandla’s roads will be patrolled by traffic cops.

Two vehicles will be used to control traffic and patrol the streets.

‘In the past we used police members to assist, but I am always worried about proper traffic control, especially in town,’ said head of traffic, Thulani Khumalo.

According to Khumalo the income of fines will supplement the municipal rates income.

He also issued a stern warning to all drivers who do not adhere to the rules.

‘We thank our mayor for bringing these changes to Nkandla.

‘Motorists, especially drunk drivers over weekends, must be warned. We will have a zero tolerance attitude,’ said Khumalo.
