Rains bring some relief

Coastal rains, but little in catchment areas of supply dams

WELCOME rains fell throughout Tuesday and into the night in large parts of Zululand, mostly along the coast, but vital dam catchment areas received little rainfall.

This time last year the dam’s level stood at 51.4%

Hluhluwe Dam is a worrying 20.4%, having lost 0.9% during the last week, compared to last year’s 60.7%.

The Klipfontein Dam has dipped under 20% at 19.9%.
