Knife attack victim searches for hero
‘In the midst of all the action and the emotions I went through, I never asked him for contact details so I could thank him for saving my life.'

STILL recovering from stab wounds inflicted during an attack in May, a local woman wants to say ‘thank you’ to the unknown man who may have saved her life.
Bongiwe Lillian Nzuze was on her way to work at the Tuzi Gazi Waterfront at about 1.30pm on 30 May when she was accosted by two young men.
‘As they passed me they turned around. One produced a large knife and the other a penknife.
‘They demanded my handbag and I refused to give it,’ said the brave woman.
‘I fought back as they grabbed me and one ran away, but I was left to fight with the one with the large knife.’
During this time, numerous cars passed the incident but did not stop to help.
‘The man threw me down onto my back and I was repeatedly stabbed on my wrists as I tried to fend him off.
‘All the time he kept shouting at me to let go of the bag, but I would not. I kept on hitting back at him.
‘Eventually a white gentleman stopped and the robber fled,’ said Bongiwe.
‘The man helped me up and took me to his car and called the police, asking them to take me to a clinic for stitches and treatment.
‘In the midst of all the action and the emotions I went through, I never asked him for contact details so I could thank him for saving my life.
‘I hope he reads this article so he can know how grateful I am. Thank you, my rescuer!’
