New Bambanana Campus to accept first students

Classes are scheduled to begin on 16 January

TRAVELLING long distances to access tertiary education will now be a thing of the past for uMkhanyakude District students.

The Umfolozi TVET College‘s Bambanana Campus, in Jozini will be accepting the first 280 students.

The initial courses offered for study as from 10 January 2017 are Report 191 Business Management, Public Management and the National Certificate Vocational (NCV) in Office Administration, Primary Agriculture and Tourism.

Classes are scheduled to begin on 16 January.

More student intake will take place once the campus is complete as the hall, library, engineering workshops, student residence and computer laboratory are still under construction.

Umfolozi College Principal Sam Zungu said he was ecstatic Bambanana Campus will soon be up and running.

‘It is now time for the people of uMkhanyakude to have education brought to their doorstep.

‘This campus will not only up-skill the people of this area, but will also aid in job creation.

‘The skills the college will offer will be of great advantage to the local municipalities such as Jozini, uMhlabuyalingana, Hlabisa Big Five False Bay and Mtubatuba.

‘We urge all students to take advantage of this opportunity.’

The college now boasts campuses in uMkhanyakude, King Cetshwayo and iLembe districts.
