Empangeni High School online gaming team claim title

The EHS team made their debut in the league this year

EMPANGENI High School (EHS) player Nicolene van der Linde became the first female to receive her KZN colours for eSports after her gaming team, Empangeni High, won the eSports League of Legends school league.

She is also the first female from KZN to qualify for the national team trials.

The EHS team made their debut in the league this year.

The team played a number of ladder games and remained unbeaten.

EHS beat Hoërskool Wonderboom, Grey High, Northwood and Westville Boys High on their way to the title.

The entire team of Darius Botha, Charl Malan, Jarred Poupard, Joshua Poupard, Dylan Smyth and Van der Linde all received their provincial colours.

The win has allowed the EHS side to booked their berth in the 2018 national team trials.
