KFC cricket programme empowers children

Sport a key driver of children's development

TO commemorate the recent celebration of World Children’s Day, KFC reflected on the progress they have made over the years in ensuring more children across the country have access to sport through the KFC Mini Cricket programme.

The day, which is celebrated on 20 November each year, highlights the progress made towards the realisation and promotion of children’s rights.

KFC’s partnership with cricket continues to provide an opportunity of creating experiences that enrich the youth of South Africa, and have managed over the years to use sport as a nation builder, helping build social cohesion and provide a platform where children are encouraged to be the best version of themselves.

The grassroot programme is a strong vehicle for change and a way to holistically help young people reach their full potential.

Sport provides children with the opportunity to interact with peers across the spectrum of society, without the barriers of social status.

This programme has provided a fundamental platform, which sees more than 126 000 kids participating in the game of cricket.

Young boys and girls can thrive and build new friendships on and off the field, while learning critical life lessons.
