GL
The entry model is the GL which costs R244 900. There’s only one engine option, so in this case you get a 77kw/138Nm, 1.5 litre petrol engine linked to a five-speed gearbox. GL trim is well stocked with standard features such as automatic climate control, SLDA touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and CarPlay connectivity, reverse camera, multifunction steering wheel and electric fold-in mirrors. Above the GL in manual form is the GL Auto which costs R264 900. The automatic GL Vitara Brezza has a four-speed self-shifting transmission. Besides the different gearboxes, the manual and automatic Vitara Brezzas in GL trim have exactly the same standard features.

GLX
The next model in the Vitara Brezza range is the GLX Manual for R289 900 with the same 1.5 litre engine and five-speed gearbox. On the outside, GLX trim gains alloy wheels, the GL’s 16-inch steel wheels and a trio of two-tone roof colour options for those who want to stand out a bit more. GLX buyers can, for instance, pair the Sizzling Red and Torque Blue exterior colours with a Midnight Black roof, or the Granite Grey option with an Autumn Orange roof. Inside, GLX trim adds cruise control to the standard features mix, along with keyless entry and push-button start, auto-dimming rearview mirror, a cooled glovebox, auto windscreen wipers and a leather-covered steering wheel. Lastly, selling for R309 900 is the Vitara Brezza in GLX trim and with automatic transmission. Apart from the four-speed self-shifting gearbox, there’s no difference between the manual and auto GLX models.
