Have yourself a merry green Christmas!

If there are any other ‘green’ Christmas ideas you think we should add to the list, pop your reply into the comments below!

WE all like to try to save the planet one good deed at a time, and here are some tips to be environmentally friendly this festive season.

Choose the right wrapping paper Brown paper is so in right now! Finish it off with a beautiful bow (made from string), add a cardboard tag, pop on a few ink stamps and voila, a stunning gift!

Buy green gifts for your loved ones There are dozens of eco-friendly gifts out there just waiting to fill the floor space under your Christmas tree.

  • To help prepare your loved ones for their 2021 get-fit resolutions, glass water bottles are a must for everyday use as well as for when they hit the gym.
  • Encourage your loved ones to ditch the plastic straws and buy them glass or metal alternatives.
  • Reusable tote bags are where it’s at. They are an ideal way to decrease your carbon footprint and, if you’re picking them up at novelty stores, they’re undoubtedly gonna have some fantastic designs on them too.
  • Nothing wraps up Christmas quite like chocolate, so be sure to check if the chocolatiers utilise sustainable sources in their products, such as palm oil and cocoa. The top of my list would include Lindt. Not only does it taste divine, but it also makes use of sustainable palm oil AND cocoa products. Trust me on the salted caramel, it’s DIVINE!
  • Remember, reduce, reuse, recycle. Wine and champagne is a given at most Christmas luncheons, so rinse out those bottles and drop them into the recycling container.
  • Most of all, have yourself a fantastic and eco-friendly Christmas!
