While measures have been put in place at the new housing development to discourage citizens from discarding waste and refuse in the bushes, bags of litter and broken refuse bins are still discarded at the entrances of roads.

Ongoing awareness campaigns of the negative impact illegal dumping has on the environment and on the cleanliness of the community has made no difference.

Members of the public are urged to avoid illegal dumping or be fined R1 000.
