A hat-trick Best of Zululand win

Life Empangeni Private Hospital celebrates 28 years of quality care and clinical excellence

In an exceptional achievement that underscores its commitment to quality healthcare, Life Empangeni Private Hospital has been awarded the title of Best Hospital in Zululand for the third consecutive year.

This hat-trick win reflects not just a moment of glory but a remarkable journey of growth and transformation over the past nearly three decades. Let’s take a journey through time to explore where the hospital was 28 years ago, where it stands today, and what the future holds for this remarkable healthcare provider.

Humble beginnings

Back in 1995, the hospital, then known as Garden Clinic, was a small community clinic, keeping up with the growing needs of its patient population with just five specialists. The community recognised the critical need for improved healthcare services, and the hospital’s leadership began to develop a vision for the future. In those early days, the hospital focused on foundational improvements. Investments in staff training and development helped cultivate a dedicated workforce.

Where we are now

Today, Life Empangeni Private Hospital has transformed into a modern healthcare facility. With cutting-edge technology and a team of over 30 highly-skilled medical professionals, employing close to 400 employees that reside in the communities we serve.

In recent years, Life Empangeni Private Hospital has expanded its services, offering specialised care in a variety of fields, including plastic and reconstructive surgery, non-invasive surgical procedures, being the first hospital in KZN to perform unilateral bi-portal endoscopic surgery. Its commitment to patient-centred care has led to improved patient satisfaction ratings, innovative treatment options, and a focus on community wellness.

The hospital has fostered strong partnerships with local organisations, community outreach programmes are expanding, focusing on preventative health measures, mental health awareness, and wellness education.

The hospital aims to be a partner in the community’s health journey. This community-centred approach has not only enhanced the hospital’s reputation, but has also built a culture of trust and support among patients and employees alike.
The Best Hospital in Zululand award is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication from our doctors, allied health professionals and employees.
